Use yellow for your main color for the Duck Theme. Yellow is considered to be a neutral color, meaning that it’s perfect to use for either a Boy or Girl.
Use clear, blue and yellow balloons. Rent a bubble machine. Decorate with towels and bathrobes. Out of orange and yellow foam paper, make ducks and spell out Baby Shower and string them all together with orange yarn.
Fill the bathtub with Rubber Ducky’s. Mark a few of them on the bottom with a number or other symbol. Leave a sign in the bathroom asking guests to please choose a Rubber Ducky and look on the bottom to see if they’ve won a prize. One per guest!
As a centerpiece, fill a glass pedestal bowl or punch bowl with water and float Rubber Ducky’s in it. Add a drop of blue food coloring to the water to make it look more like lake water.
Serve food on Rubber Ducky paper plates, cups and napkins and continue the Theme using yellow balloons and streamers.

Aniseed and Lemon Homemade Lip Balm Recipe
This is a tangy, refreshing lip balm that leaves a fresh, clean taste on your lips. The base of almond and apricot oils moisturizes the lips, while the vitamin E regenerates the delicate skin.
Ingredients:
5 drops yellow color base (see preparation step 1)
2 tablespoons calendula oil
4 tablespoons sweet almond oil
2 tablespoons apricot kernel oil
1 drop liquid honey
1 tablespoon beeswax pellets
2 vitamin E capsules
2 drops aniseed
3 drops lemon
Preparation:
Make the yellow color base by adding one teaspoon of ground turmeric to one tablespoon of sunflower oil in a small cup. Heat over boiling water or in a microwave until it bubbles, then remove from heat and pour into a dropper bottle. Prepare a double boiler (one saucepan that fits inside another) by filling the bottom half with hot water and heating to a gentle simmer. Measure out the base oils, one by one, and pour into the top half of the boiler. Add the honey, beeswax pellets, and yellow color base. Stir gently to mix the ingredients. As the beeswax is melting, prick open the vitamin E capsules and squeeze the contents into the oils. Once the beeswax has fully melted remove from the heat. Drop in the aniseed and lemon and stir to mix them in thoroughly. Pour into small glass jars or ceramic pots, and let cool for half an hour or until set. The lip balm is ready to use.
Tip – The yellow color base gives the impression of lemon, but you could use a brown color base if you prefer, as this gives the impression of aniseed. Alternatively, you can omit the color altogether in this Lip Balm Recipe.
Whenever possible your food should match your Theme colors and Theme!
Ancient Romans used saffron and other spices to put a rich yellow color into various foods.
Yellow Cake Decorated with a Rubber Ducky on Top
Ingredients:
1 large yellow goose neck squash – peeled, seeded, cubed
Water (to cover)
¾ stick margarine
1cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons vanilla
¼ teaspoon salt
¾ cup all-purpose flour
4 large eggs
12 ounce can evaporated milk
Whipped cream (to top)
Preparation:
Place squash in large saucepan and cover with water. Boil for 20 minutes, or until tender.
Drain and mash with an electric mixer. Add margarine, sugar, vanilla, salt, flour, eggs and milk to squash and mix well. Pour mixture into a buttered 9 x 13 inch casserole dish.
Bake in 375°F degree oven for 25 minutes, or until slightly golden brown and a knife inserted in center comes out clean. Serve slightly warm with whipped cream on top.
When I used this recipe, I made a 2 layer round cake. I made green grass on the sides and a blue pond on the top and stuck 2 small rubber duckies on top.
Makes 8 to 10 Servings
